 The
Mammut Element can be updated (read
about updating other transceivers). The update is done through a wireless link.
The ability to update your beacon is important, because it allows you to get enhancements
and new features without purchasing a new avalanche transceiver.
The Element displays the version number in the upper-left corner of the display during
startup.It costs $30US to update the Element. The update
can be done at about a dozen retail locations in the US and Canada as well as at the
Mammut service centers in Vermont and British Columbia. Visit the
Mammut dealer
locator and select the "Mammut Element Firmware Update" checkbox to locate
a participating retailer. (Here
